“She is Learning and She is trailblazing Amongst her Peers”.
Through the empower Her to Empower project, we have had remarkable young girl leaders who are still continuing the work up-to-day, bringing about transformative change in their community. Meet Linda Phiri who has recently been enrolled to the University of Malawi, Chancellor College to study Bachelor of Education in Social Studies. She explains how much she has always been motivated and inspired to aim higher. Today we are happy to see her maintaining her club “Girl Power”. The club now has over 50 members in area 25 township. She is a great inspiration to a lot of girls. We are so happy to have been part of her life journey through mentorship training and creating safe space for girls through the formation of clubs. We met Linda when she was in form 3 at Mkwichi secondary school. Today she is supporting a lot of girls through her club. Her dream is to see every girl in school and treated as equal.
“The society has to stop prescribing what girls can or can-not do. Every girl has her own dreams and goals. Just give her the opportunity to thrive and she will thrive”. __Linda Phiri, 18 years’ old
